POLICY ON NOTARY'S FYI

If we quote you an initial price for a job (s) and there is no notary cost included at the time, and then we find out later that there NEEDS TO BE a notary, we will still charge you for this service regardless. Many times clients fail to advise us at the time they send the documents to us. Since we don't make any money on notary's and since they cost $10.00 each, that is the cost we will have to charge you the client. There has been a recent rash of client's not advising us about the notary and some even saying there is none required. Then when we find out it is required for their POS, they are quick to point out our initial rate we charged. And they don't think that they should now have to pay the notary.

To circumvent this from happening any more we are listing this policy now on the web site for your information or if we have to send a client to review it for their appraisel and understanding of how we operate process service etc.

BEWARE OF THE FLAT RATE SCAMERS

RECENTLY WE HAVE SEEN A LOT OF ADDS TO "FLAT RATE" YOUR PROCESS SERVICE COSTS. SOME ADVERTISING FOR AS LITTLE AS $20.00 TO $30.00 FOR THE ENTIRE SAN DIEGO COUNTY AREA. WE AT LINDQUIST INVESTIGATION SERVICES HAVE BEEN PROVIDING PROCESS SERVICE IN THIS AREA AND THE ENTIRE STATE FOR OVER NINE YEARS. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US AND THESE FLAT RATE PEOPLE IS SIMPLY THIS; THEY HIRE ALMOST ANYONE WHO WILL WORK FOR THEM FOR NOTHING. FOR THE MOST PART THEY ARE "NOT" PROFESSIONALS OR HAVE ANY REAL EXPERIENCE SERVING PAPERS. THE OWNER OF THESE FLAT RATE OUTFITS MAY EVEN SIGN THE POS THAT IS REQUIRED ONCE THEIR SERVER COMPLETES THE SERVICE. IT MAY NOT BE SIGNED BY THE ACTUAL PROCESS SERVER. THE PROCESS SERVER GAVE THE OWNER THEIR OK TO SIGN THE POS FOR THEM.

I HAVE EVEN BEEN APPROCHED BY ONE OF THESE FLAT RATE OUTFITS LOCATED IN THE FALLBROOK AREA ASKING ME IF I WAS INTERESTED IN HELPING SERVE HIS PAPERS. HE EXPLAINED HE WOULD SIGN THE POS FOR ME SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO COME IN THE OFFICE TO DO IT MYSELF. THIS GUY WAS EVEN A NAPPS MEMBER. WHEN I TOLD HIM IT WAS NOT LEGAL TO SIGN THE PAPERS FOR THE PROCESS SERVER WHO ACTUALLY DID THE SERVE, HE SAID HE GETS PERMISSION FROM HIS SERVERS FIRST TO SIGN FOR THEM. I DID REPORT HIM TO THE NAPPS BOARD. I FEAR HE IS STILL DOING IT HOWEVER AND AT A FLAT RATE. SIGNING THE POS FOR THE ACTUAL SERVERS KEEPS THEIR OVERHEAD COSTS DOWN FOR THESE BOGUS FLAT RATE OPERATIONS AND THUS THEY CAN AFFORD TO OFFER THESE FLAT RATE COSTS.

REMEMBER THE OLD SAYING IF IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...IT IS!

AND YOU SHOULD BEWARE OF THEM. MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE "ALL" REGISTERED PROCESS SERVERS AND THAT THEY ARE CA PI LICENSED TO BE ABLE TO DO SURVEILLANCE FOR YOU SHOULD IT BECOME NECESSARY TO FINALLY SERVE YOUR PAPERS. DONE IN THE EVENT THE DEFENDANT'S ARE AVOIDING SERVICE. I HAVE VISITED ON LINE ONE OF THESE FLAT RATE SITES. ONE WAS LOCATED IN CARLSBAD THE OTHER ONE IN OCEANSIDE OFFERING SURVEILLANCE WORK FOR THE CLIENT FOR REDICULOUS COSTS AMOUNTS AS LOW AS $15.00.  REMEMBER IT IS ILLEGAL FOR ANYONE TO DO SURVEILLANCE WORK UNLESS THEY ARE SWORN "LE" OR THEY ARE A LICENSED PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR.

TO AVOID YOUR CASE BEING THROWN OUT FOR THESE KINDS OF SCAM OUTFITS, ONLY USE THE TRIED AND TRUE PROFESSIONALS WHO ARE PROPERLY LICENSED BONDED AND INSURED WITH A PROVEN TRACK RECORD OF BRINGING THE DEFENDANT TO COURT SUCESSFULLY WITHOUT YOUR CASE BEING TOSSED OUT BY THE JUDGE. OR LATER BEING OVERTURNED BECAUSE THE DEFENDANT PROVED THAT THE SERVICE WAS DONE BY A BOGUS OUTFIT NOT PROPERLY LICENSED AND ACTING NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF CA TO PROPERLY SERVE PROCESS PAPERS FOR YOU.
